Murambi: Babies and Mothers

Title

Murambi: Babies and Mothers

Description

As I walked through additional rooms, I noticed how more and more bodies were that of mothers cradling their children. One room towards the end of the tour consisted only of little babies. Both times I visited Murambi I decided to stop viewing the bodies after visiting that room. The first time I went to Murambi I walked away from the hallway and noticed a farm built just outside the memorial's wall. Little children waived at us. I remember thinking how odd it was to have children living meters away from such a site. These are the types of thoughts many visitors to Murambi face with after viewing such an emotional site.
