Nyamata

Bugesera Tutsi experienced the same morbid fate at the Nyamata church, located minutes away from Ntarama. Around 10,000 Tutsi died at Nyamata when Hutu perpetrators attacked in mid-April 1994. A much larger church than Ntarama, the Nyamata memorial is noted for covering the church's pews entirely with victims' clothing. The memorial also includes a mass crypt that visitors can walk through.
