Nyarubuye

The Nyarubuye memorial is located in eastern Rwanda near the Tanzanian border. Nearly 50,000 Tutsi died in massacres near the Nyarubuye church. While the memorial is undergoing a renovation process, the memorial currently consists of a display of bones and other artifacts from the massacres. The memorial is well known from the accounts written by Western journalists Fergal Keane and Phillip Gourevitch.
